Wow. You clicked on the 'About' menu item? You really are the adventurous type, aren't you?
Well, I guess I should tell you something about the author.
Lee McClellan was lucky enough to be born into a wonderful family.
Unfortunately, they abandoned him in a dumpster where the McClellan's found him. ( This is a story Lee's siblings convinced him of as a youth ).
He grew up in Rossmoyne Township, a blue-collar neighborhood in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was a high-school wrestler, collected comic books (mostly X-Men), habitually watched Star Trek the original series, played dungeons and dragons and was voted the best actor in the school his senior year. In short, he was a geek.
After high school, he attended the University of Cincinnati in Mechanical Engineering. When that wasn't what he expected, he received an Associates Degree in Computer Programming from Cincinnati State.
During those years, he spent 13 years as a Wrestling Coach at his alma mater, continued playing D&D, became a fan of Star Wars, started readying Fantasy novels, was in a physics club and an avid member of several community theater organizations. In short, he was still a geek.
His geekness led him to start playing Everquest and kept him playing it for over a decade. What he enjoyed in the game, was its realsitic nature. How difficult things were. Sadly, WOW came along and changed the nature of MMORPGs.
As Kronk Debuffer/Daemonspawn Hellspawn, Lee enjoyed playing with hundreds of players, far too many to mention. But among them, Lucia, Scone, Iman, Chivalrous, Kemosabi, Usagii, Noonga, Tedra, Challen, Daichikara, Misha, Tesha, Trystant, Alectrys, Saeric, Kannafoot, Kitkatt, Aaladil, Avergonis.
Lee hasn't played EQ1 or talked with these people in 10-15 years and yet their names roll off his lips like they were distant relatives.
He tried other games, but in the end they all left him frustrated. They were too simplistic, too easy. So he gave up his MMORPG days and began to read more novels. Again focusing on materials that made the fantasies seem like they could be real.
From the X-men back in junior high, to Tolkien back in high school, to Everquest, to his acting days, to Feist, Goodkind, Wurts - Lee has always been drawn to 'flights of fantasy' with that touch of reality.
If you have made it this far, hopefully you will give his writings a chance. If you do, hopefully you will find the same kind of believable fantasy in his Novels.
Thank you.
